Play equipment out of use and water fountains broken
Reported via mobile in the Equipment damaged category anonymously at 00:01, Wed 3 August 2022
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later
For several months now the play equipment has been out of use or not fit for purpose at the Hengrove play park. Even at the recent anniversary celebrations there was no attempt to get this repaired and encourage more people to use the space. I am lucky that I live locally but if I had traveled a long way expecting certain facilities I would have been sorely disappointed. The water fountains are always switched off and just recently were told they are in fact broken, meaning that the children had no where to cool down and play during the hot heat wave. The big climbing apparatuses is closed off completely meaning that for the older children there is little to do at the park. The big pirate ship is cordoned off and under repair but this has been that way for weeks. It is a real disappointment for families visiting the park to have it in such a state of disrepair. Especially in an area with many low income families who may not be able to afford a holiday or expensive day trips out over the summer, this is a vital lifeline. Please can something be done as soon as possible to address these issues.
