Fencing and road signs left in dangerous position.,

Reported via desktop in the Obstruction category anonymously at 11:57, Sunday 28 August 2022

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

On the 19th July I reported a depression in The Chine (ref : 368815). This has been rectified to a certain degree and the enquiry closed. However the contractors left many weeks ago but they have left some large fencing and various road signs on the grass verge against my garden wall. These are causing an obstruction to the footpath when I and other households put our bins out. More importantly they are only resting on the wall and could easily be pulled over by children. I know you have closed the enquiry but in my opinion a job is not finished until all work is cleared away. I would appreciate you ensuring the contractors rectify this problem quickly. Thank you.

  • Please remove Barriers and Fencing left after repairs to hole in road on The Chine, Stapleton. However the metal fencing may have been taken away by member of public to keep for own use, unfortunately

  • I reported this problem on 28th August 2022 and as of 6th October 2022 absolutely nothing has been done. I had presumed that you would have contacted ETM and requested that the detritus they left be removed ASAP. That doesn’t appear to have been the case. As I explained before, there are inherent dangers of leaving fencing along the side of the pavement. As I have now informed you twice of the problem, if there are any incidents causing harm to the public, it will be totally down to your lack of action.
