Lots of weeds and brambles and burdock in the long grass

Reported via mobile in the Grass cutting category anonymously at 03:45, Friday 2 September 2022

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

This is a large city childrens and dog park. During May the mowing schedule was changed to allow areas of long grass to grow to promote wildlife and bees. Whilst this was lovely at the time, with the heat the areas of grass are massively overgrown and brown and dying. Today my dog was running through the grass and got could you by a massive burdock plant. His face and paws were covered in burdock seeds, they matted his fur and matted his eyes shut. He was extremely distressed and it took me over an hour to pull out all the burdock spines from his face and mouth.

I don’t think Thsi is safe for an open public space that has lots of young children and lots of dogs. Please can this be looked at and the long grass isn’t he middle of the park be cut. If areas needs to be left please can they be left to the sides or by the edges instead of the in the centre of the park
