Unauthorised Loading Bay on Footway
Reported via desktop in the Road signage category anonymously at 16:13, Tue 18 October 2022
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3898204.
Someone has erected a sign indicating that there is a new loading bay on the footway. There is no Traffic Regulation Order to authorise the loading bay on the footway, and so this is an incorrect road sign. The road sign should be removed, and the footway reinstated, until legal permission has been granted for the loading bay. In the meantime, the unauthorised roadsign is causing a danger to pedestrians as drivers are incorrectly believing that there is a loading bay on the footway at this location.
The previous reports at www.fixmystreet.com/report/3861480 and www.fixmystreet.com/report/3872600 were closed in error, as clearly third parties should not be erecting signs on the footway implying that loading / unloading is permitted on the footway.
