3 roadside gullies on Troopers Hill are cannot drain water
Reported via desktop in the Flooding/Gully/Drainage category anonymously at 07:20, Wednesday 22 March 2023
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4343616.
3 gullies on the north side of Troopers Hill Rd, going uphill from the junction with Crews Hole Rd have issues preventing them from draining water from the road. The uppermost gully, used as a reference for this report is completely invisible as it is covered with mud. The two other, lower gullies were reported in having been cleared in reports https://fixmystreet.bristol.gov.uk/ report/ 4186735 and https://fixmystreet.bristol.gov.uk/ report/ 4186771. The gratings of these gullies have had the grating cleared BUT as the attached photos show, there are dams of earth and debris preventing any run off reaching the lowest gully and the edge of the road has not found around the next gully so very little water will run into it. The whole edge of Troopers Hill Rd needs to be dug out by at least a 30cm to find the edge of the road and allow drainage of water into the gullies. Regular visits are then needed by a street cleaning machine. A painted white line on the edge of the road is needed, after the digging work is complete, to show how far back sweeping and clearing needs to go. I will do second report for the other gully. I would appreciate direct contact with the council officer concerned to discuss this issue, which I am assuming is for Highways. I will be sending details of these reports to my local councillor for his information.
