Updates

  • Traffic lights up but no work being carried.

An absolute farce! Looks like the houses at the top of the landslide will be going next - lawsuit in the making, typical BCC non-response to real problem.

  • Shocking! Traffic lights have ben up for 6 weeks but no work at all. Slippage worsening each day, pipes and cables exposed, houses potentially damaged. Law suits coming I would think.

  • I am extremely concerned that remedial work to the landslide has put underground pipe work at serious risk.

There is a portion of wall and gate, attached to the original footpath with only blue ropes, hanging dangerously over YELLOW underground pipes. This pipe is now buckling under the weight.

I am very worried that if there is any further movement, the pipes may crack and burst. This already happened to a water pipe, if this is a gas pipe, this will cause significant damage and risk.

Are you, as the council, waiting for a serious incident to happen before taking any action? I live very near to this landslide and I have watched it develop and the whole area physically deteriorate, despite some very questionable and ineffective attempts at remedial work.

There is now a substantial risk to neighbouring houses, traffic and pedestrians.

The landslide has been an issue for over 18 months and it is my opinion that it has now reached a new critical stage.

PLEASE TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION TO SORT OUT THIS PROBLEM BEFORE A SERIOUS INCIDENT OCCURS.
