Road breaking up in front of previously fixed manhole. Approx 3ft by 10in
Reported via mobile in the Roads category by Jerry Hatcher at 14:20, Mon 22 May 2023
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4582985.
This is right outside of our front gate on the Wells Road Bs4 2ax and has been there for quite some time but now breaking up is getting worse causing lots more noise and house vibrations . It’s worse at night when traffic is slow but vehicles are going much faster, especially lorries and buses. The manhole is stable at present but this took more than 2 years and 4 attempts to get it properly repaired. Now the road leading up to it is crumbling away, it is not the manholes causing the issue.

This is outside of 202 Wells road with Clyde road on one side and Rookery road on the opposite side and NOT near Sydenham Road as this map seems to show! In the last few weeks it has got progressively worse with extreme 'clanking' of the the 6 lid manhole (which has now become loose). This has been reported again via the phone on 23 August and am aware that other local residents have reported it also. This noise, which is pretty constant 24 hours a day is not only having an impact on our sleep but also our day to day mental well being. Please get someone to look at it in order to get it sorted.
