Concrete blocks and 'cyclists dismount' signs in the cycle labne

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4593924.

The construction works at cattle market road have for the last few weeks placed concrete blocks and 'cyclists dismount' signs on the cycle track along cattle market road. Neither are recommended in the DoT Safety at Street Works and Road Works Code of Practice government/ uploads/ system/ uploads/ attachment_data/ file/ 321056/ safety-at-streetworks.pdf

  • Note that the 'cyclists dismount' signs are of the blue 'information' type, rather than the red 'cyclists dismount and use footway' type which is permitted only when the carriageway is closed.
