Talk of closing Road which would exacerbate traffic problems on our road, Henley Road.

Reported via mobile in the General highways enquiry category anonymously at 21:29, Sunday 28 May 2023

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4605756.

Traffic on Henley Grove has become heavier and faster since Cranbrook Road was narrowed by its parking scheme a few years ago. I have witnessed several near accidents with elderly frail people crossing the road, and school children at risk. The traffic needs to be slowed. I now hear Holmes Grove may be closed to traffic which will only make traffic on Henley Grove heavier. I think a general calming scheme would be to close henley grove and make Lawrence Grove and Holmes Grove one way. I am also led to believe someone living in Holmes Grove has undue influence in the council as seen by their having the pavements nicely paved. Our pavements are very uneven and hazardous. I watch several frail elderly people (two with zimmer frames) who live in the road navigate the pavements with great difficulty.
