Access from Millennium Promenade to Pero's Bridge blocked by a fence

Reported via desktop in the Obstruction category anonymously at 01:32, Thursday 15 June 2023

Sent to Bristol City Council 7 hours, 6 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 4674646.

There is currently no access from Millennium Promenade to Pero's Bridge (a major pedestrian route) due to a combination of a fence around the whole of Millennium Square (while the Festival of Nature's Wild Weekend is being set up) and the long-term hoarding in front of We The Curious (which means that the usual diversion via the passage underneath We The Curious passage is unavailable). This means that pedestrians need to either walk all the way around Millennium Square or alternatively all the way around We The Curious via Anchor Road. The worst part is that long diversion is completely unnecessary as there's plenty of empty space next to the hoarding and the only reason for this is that festival organisers were too lazy to run a 60 m fence in parallel with the hoarding creating a passage between their area and the hoarding. It would be good is maintaining access through Millennium Sq were a condition for all future festivals.
