Street light No 3 in Cambridge Crescent BS9 3QG is not lit.

Reported via desktop in the Street light category anonymously at 23:30, Friday 4 August 2023

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4860452.

You appear to have changed the bulb in No 2 street light in Cambridge Crescent which was working although dim. The pin on the map is where the lamp is (outside No 27) & we still have a black out which means people are at risk of injury. Please expedite asap. Thanking you in anticipation of a prompt response.

  • 27th Aug 2023 - I first reported this light not working on 5th July 2023. I then received notification that it had been repaired but it has not worked since 5th July so the repair failed. Before the 5th July the light was bright & then suddenly stopped working. I am very concerned about peoples' safety as the area around this light is now very, very dark. Please expedite this repair asap. Thank you.

  • Regarding No 3 street light in Cambridge Crescent - we are now into the 3rd month without this light. It has not worked one single night since I reported its failure on the 5th July even though a repair has been attempted. Can you say when it will be repaired? When it stopped working there was no indication that it was failing - it was a bright & a continuous light. I hope this can be resolved soon as it remains difficult to see the pavement & I am concerned someone will be injured particularly when the bins are out. I hope we do not have an LED light as a study in 2021 by the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology has found that all insect life is eliminated under those lights thus reducing any beneficial ecosystems that used to exist. I hope this can be resolved soon as daylight reduces over the winter months. Thank you.

  • A team from Highways came into Cambridge Crescent today. No 3 streetlight outside No 27 Cambridge Crescent was not touched but they fiddled with No 4 streetlight opposite No 34 Cambridge Crescent & that has now ben on all day as has the LED light No 1 in the road near to No 2 Cambridge Crescent. There was no problem with this light nor No 4 streetlight. Please could you inform me as to what will now happen to switch off No 1 & No 4 streetlight in Cambridge Crescent & why no action appears to have been taken over No 3 streetlight.
