Whole pavement uneven trip hazards

Reported via mobile in the Pavements category anonymously at 19:48, Thursday 31 August 2023

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4946554.

The pavement between Cavendish Ave and Cardigan Road is uneven, sinking in parts and all the square slabs are trip hazards as none of them are flat. It may ge a combination of subsudence and heave vehicle damage. It is treacherous to walk on and particularly poor given the number of older residents using these shops. It isn't flat either for the many residents in wheelchairs.

Updates

  • A new enquiry has been raised for this issue.

Posted by Bristol City Council at 19:48, Thursday 31 August 2023

  • The council should install bollards to stop motorists illegally driving on the pavement

  • I suspect the main problem here is subsidence / poor foundation work in the first place. In other places where these square pavements were installed - e.g. The Triangle, Park Street, etc, they have had to be replaced or temporary fixed because of similar failures.

  • Perhaps if motorists didn’t illegally drive on the pavements, the problem wouldn’t be exacerbated
