Tree in Violation of Rights of Light Act 1959
Reported via mobile in the Tree touching building category anonymously at 17:06, Saturday 16 September 2023
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5000912.
The Council-owned tree is, without doubt, the largest on our street and is so overgrown that its branches touch our bedroom window. It is in violation of the Rights of Light Act 1959 and the long, overhanging branches are potentially dangerous. I would like the Council to either cut back or remove the tree entirely. Astonishingly, your team recently pruned the trees on our street. Ours was emitted and your colleagues echoed my concerns, as well as shared my surprise that the tree has not been maintained by the Council. I look forward to your fast response to address this overlooked issue. Thank you.
