Extremely bright lampost light shines into home

Reported via mobile in the Street light category anonymously at 11:12, Thu 16 November 2023

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5218917.

The lampost light was recently changed to a much higher brightness but no shade has been fitted and it shines into my house. It's right at the end of Halstock Avenue cul de sac adjacent to the path over the cycle path. It's been around at least a couple of weeks.

  • Thank you for raising this issue. The use of a Control Management System will enable us to have control of the light fittings which will enable us to dim the lights down to a fraction of the light output. We are currently in the process of moving to this system so in the meantime we have asked a contractor to take a look at the light.

  • This is still an issue. I reported this back in November. This still shines directly down and into our house.

  • This has still not been sorted. Why has it taken 3 months to narrow the light. It's going straight into the bedroom and lounge.
