Keep clear markings or double yellow lines needed
Reported via mobile in the General highways enquiry category anonymously at 10:01, Sun 7 January 2024
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5407636.
There are 2 wheelchair users and others with mobility difficulties living several houses on Brixton Road.
Cars park on the pavements daily blocking the gates, drop kerb and disable parking bays.
Over the last 12 months there has been a significant increase in illegal parking which leads to obstruction. Which means the residents are unable to enter or exit their homes disrupting their lives.
Examples - Resident unable to attend medical appointments on time.
Resident stuck outside in the cold waiting for the motor owner to return and remove their vehicle.
Child not collected on time from school
This situation is causing anxiety and stress in the residents who are disabled and there able-bodied carers.
Please look into this matter and consider installing double yellow lines along the left side of Brixton Road, "keep clear" markings or more pedestrian dropped kerbs along with signage.

‘Motorists’ park their cars on pavements.
You could report these motorists to the police, they are breaking the law by: 1. Driving on the pavement 2. Causing a dangerous obstruction to pedestrians
Call 101. Option 5. Option 2. Option 1. Be sure to get an “incident reference number” so that you can follow this up.
