Reported via mobile in the Roads category anonymously at 11:00, Sat 3 February 2024

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5526845.

This has pothole has been around for awhile and due the nature of it every single car that drives over it makes a really loud clang sound per wheel. This keeps the whole building up at night as it's a very busy road and so it's constantly being uses. Every 4-30seconds there's the loud clang.

  • Please do something. The problem is only getting louder, our mental health of the people in the building from the lack of sleep is getting worse. Please at least put a temporary hole cover on it if you cannot fix it.

  • This is now dangerous, the whole drain cover is loose and moves violently when driven over, aswell as the bits of rock that are loose too that will no doubt start to fling up into cars and or pedestrians

  • The noise is currently peaking at over 100db when a car drives over it and is at risk of damaging the hearing of residents living next to the drain in Newfoundland Court.

The surface is severely damaged and there is significant movement in the drain cover itself.

  • You may also want to look at the drain/grate about 50m further down the road (outside Duke offices/Moxy hotel) as that is also starting to deteriorate.

  • The clanging has restarted a week after repair works were done

  • Please find a permanent solution to this problem. There's been about three repair works so far and none of it has stopped the clanging noise permanently.

The last set of repair works was done about three ago, but the clanging noise is back yet again with the noise getting louder each passing day. Having to face this issue periodically is severely affecting the quality of life of the residents in the nearby building.

  • This is starting to affect my mental and physical health. The noise level from cars driving over it has reached previous levels (100+dB) at all hours of the day and is especially bad when buses/lories drive over it. I am unable to sleep properly and due to working from home it affects my concentration and meetings. This needs to be fixed asap.

It seems a crack has formed on the plate itself this time, rather than the metal ring moving. The crack in the images show it is 70-80% along the plate, so is only a matter of time before it fails completely and is a dangerous hazard to road traffic.
