Consistent parking in restricted zones along Horfield Road

Reported via desktop in the Obstruction category anonymously at 14:08, Friday 9 February 2024

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5554360.

Horfield Road is constantly full of cars parked on double yellow lines, especially on the left-hand side of the road as you go up towards Kingsdown. At its worst, there has been a line of cars along every inch of that side of the road all the way from outside the BRI to the junction with Southwell Street.

This creates a de facto one-way road, which causes all manner of dangers for cyclists, who now have to contend with even more impatient drivers overtaking in even narrower places, and pedestrians who now have to avoid cars mounting the kerb as there's nowhere else for them to go.

Less dramatically, it also causes significant congestion in the area, especially when a bus, lorry, or ambulance needs to get through. This happens for a large proportion of the day, every single day.
