Against the side of the road, hidden by puddles

Reported via mobile in the Roads category anonymously at 11:29, Tue 13 February 2024

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5570573.

Just lost 2 tyres because I hit this pothole at 20mph, blew the passenger front and the shock made the driverside tyre develope a bulge in the sidewall, no idea how long it's been there for but was hidden by a puddle and couldn't avoid it as a car was coming the other way

  • I witnessed a near miss where a car went to overtake a scooter, while the scooter swerved around the pothole. As the pothole is nearly invisible from a distance, neither of them could have avoided this. It could have resulted in a serious collision.

  • One of the worst potholes I’ve seen in a while, and there are some terrible ones in Bristol! You don’t see it until it’s right in front of you and its huge. Driving at 20mph is too risky.
