Road sign not visible

Reported via mobile in the Obstruction blocking access category anonymously at 07:59, Sat 2 March 2024

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5656260.

Dear BCC

The road sign on Salisbury Street BS5 8EE is low, hidden and mostly obstructed by parked cars, unlike all the other streets in the area that have a sign higher and visible to cars driving along Beaufort Road.

This can add to problems as there are 3 Salisbury Streets in Bristol and 2 of them are in BS5. If a driver types in Salisbury Street BS5 on their sat nav they are automatically directed to the other Salisbury Street near to Hayward Road.

It would help if there could be a standard street sign visible to cars and pedestrians either on the street or attached higher on a building for visitors, drivers, taxis, post workers and so on. The existing one looks great and even states St George which is helpful - it’s just that you can’t really see it unless you look really hard for it.

I am reporting the sign at the top end of the street - the Beaufort Road end.

Kind regards

Carla
