St John’s Lane Still Flooded
Reported via mobile in the Flooding/Gully/Drainage category anonymously at 19:09, Thursday 11 April 2024
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5840900.
Look at the two photos. Just had an email saying that ‘a job had been carried out’ on the flooded drainpipe at 154 St John’s Lane. Please see a screenshot of your email and a photo of the flooded road/ pavement taken AFTER your email was sent. You haven’t fixed anything. No ‘job’ has been done and this needs to be fixed urgently before schoolchildren are forced into the road next week. Why do you have endless amounts of cash to waste on cycle lanes and feasibility studies for a Metro that will never happen, but you can’t prevent the street outside my house from looking like an alleyway in downtown Mumbai? Why are you trying to save the planet when you can’t fix a blocked drain? Or does everyone else give you a backhander to ensure that jobs get done? If I missed a memo just let me know what the going rate is for bribing a BCC officer and I’ll get the brown envelope to you. BUT FIX THE BLOODY DRAIN. Thank you.

Not good enough. The issue doesn’t need ‘investigating’ - the issue is clear. Fix the blocked drain. I don’t want to hear ‘we are currently investigating’ or ‘this has been escalated to…’ or ‘a ticket has been raised for…’ or any other corporate plap. You made the same statements to a neighbour back in January. Just fix it. This isn’t what a road in the developed world should look like, and certainly not for the many months it’s been like this.
When you’ve fixed it, you can come on here to tell everyone you’ve fixed it. Until then, be quiet.

Dear Morons,
Please find attached a new photo of the flooding in our street which has been happening for many months and which you will never fix. Bristol, twinned with Mogadishu. Let’s see if you can respond without referring to the ‘climate emergency’.
