Locked drains, causing flooding and potential to soak pedestrian

Reported via mobile in the Obstruction category anonymously at 09:10, Saturday 6 July 2024

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6197025.

Dear Bristol City Council,

I am writing to report a serious drainage issue on Druid Hill that requires immediate attention. The images clearly show a blocked drain cover causing significant flooding on the road, posing a nuisance and potential safety hazard for both residents and passersby. The standing water extends across the width of the street, making it difficult for pedestrians to navigate and potentially dangerous for vehicles. This flooding is likely due to a clogged storm drain, exacerbated by recent rainfall. The problem not only inconveniences local residents but also risks property damage and creates unsanitary conditions. Furthermore, if left unaddressed, the pooling water could lead to road surface deterioration. I urgently request that the council dispatch a maintenance team to clear the blocked drain and assess any underlying issues with the drainage system to prevent future occurrences. Swift action is necessary to ensure public safety and maintain the integrity of our local infrastructure.
