Tree in council land next to out property

We have a eucalyptus tree in the council property next to our property it is leaning towards our property, we were going to have some branches taken off as squirrels get into our roof from here , we had a quote but the person who came said there was some decay / insect infestation in the bottom and it would be v expensive to cut down , I would appreciate it if someone could check it is not a danger to our property, thank you
