No access to home/ no prior warning of road works

Reported via desktop in the General highways enquiry category anonymously at 13:50, Mon 29 July 2024

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6289072.

I left my home on Friday July 26th at 16:45 (no notice at all) and have just returned now, finding the whole street closed off. This road was dressed two weeks ago, causing lumps of bitumen to stick to my rather new tyres, and now I had to park a long way from my home and cart all my luggage plus shopping all the way home, gathering more sticky mess on my shoes as the pavements were also dug up outside some houses. Given it is now the start of the summer holidays and many people are not around, SOME prior warning would have been nice/ sensible/ polite. This has made me really angry!! What about people with poor mobility?!?
