Bins left out all week on pavement

Reported via desktop in the Obstruction blocking access category anonymously at 09:23, Thu 1 August 2024

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6301871.

Bins for these flats/houses are not put away between collections but are continually stored on pavement, these block the pavement and often are overflowing with foul smelling waste. They pose an obstruction as well as a hygiene/rodent hazard.

The issue has been occurring on Horfield Road for at least months and is worst opposite Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre

  • This is part of a wider issue on that side of Horfield Road where the pavement is rarely if ever swept despite the many trees, flytipping is common, and weeds have been allowed to spread and grow to significant height and depth also reducing the width of the pavement. As a pedestrian who has to use this route to get to work each day it’s frustrating and depressing to see how it has been ignored and abandoned by the city council, especially when it is right next to various entrances to the hospital buildings in Central Bristol. And even when you do report issues on this site they are ignored by the city council, despite these problems affecting the safety of pedestrians and giving such a terrible impression of neglect to those attending the hospitals many of whom are from outside the city. It wouldn’t happen if it was Clifton!
