Inactive for 3 days plus illegal blocking of road

Reported via desktop in the Inactive roadworks category anonymously at 10:09, Thursday 1 August 2024

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6302186.

1. These road works are causing chaos for residents on Monks Park Ave. We were not given the two weeks warning as per Bristol code of conduct guidelines. The last letter from them informs us of large things being delivered but not of road closure. I have had deliveries to my house cancelled as they can’t park anywhere parking in the area is a Nightmare due to the expanding hospital and the council won’t consider residents parking. There are restrictions further up the road and lots of single yellow lines nearby. There are not adequate near spaces to park.

2. The road works are blocking the road up to 130 monks park. You have only agreed up to 120 - this is where we live so this should not be happening. We made thee council aware of this last week (Gabby) but this has not been rectified I have provided photos taken at 120. This means it is difficult for us to bring back shopping and park near the house (I have a knee condition). They initially had it up to 120 but moved it so there is more room for all their cars/4 wheel drives to park. This isn’t even adjusted back for evenings and weekends (also see next point). If the work is for the hospital, they should have to park their vehicles in the hospital!!

3. The roadworks have been inactive this week. Someone was there on Monday morning this week ( it doing anything though) and nothing since. This is concerning as the street is blocked for no good reason and may cause extension of works into September.

Please can someone contact me to inform me what is happening.
