Speed limit ignored

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 20:16, Sat 9 May 2015

Sent to Bristol City Council 4 minutes later

About 90% of drivers ignore the 20 mph speed limit in this area and I have noticed it particularly on this road (St Anne's Park Road) and on Wick Road. What's the point in having a rule if you're going to just let everyone ignore it? I obey the limit when I drive and drivers drive about 3 feet behind me, flashing their lights at me, and then OVERTAKE me! This has been going on since the speed limit was introduced.

  • The council replied but said that their experience was that most people obey the 20 mph speed limit. However the experience of council officers sat behind a desk in an office and my experience actually walking the route almost every day don't seem to match.
