Road markings unclear

Reported via desktop in the Road signage category anonymously at 10:28, Wednesday 2 October 2024

Sent to Bristol City Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6541591.

I have been issued with a penalty charge [OB93331255] for "Being in a bus lane". However the road markings describe the lane as "Bus Gate". As a visitor to the city, this terminology is confusing, as in all other towns I drive in, bus lanes are marked as "Bus Lane", and often have a red surface to make that obvious. I suggest that Bristol puts in place a nomenclature that does not trap unwary drivers.
