The speed camera / 30mph repeater sign opposite Bell Tools on St Johns Lane is now incorrect as the speed limit has been reduced to 20mph

Reported via desktop in the Road signage category anonymously at 17:57, Wed 2 October 2024

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6544190.

The Speed Camera / 30mph repeater sign opposite Bell Tools on St Johns Lane is now incorrect as the speed limit has been reduced to 20mph. This is a road safety issue as it provides conflicting guidance to drivers as to what the speed limit is here. The sign should be taken down & replaced with a Speed Camera/ 20mph sign as there is still the fixed speed camera in place.

This report is now closed to updates from the public. You can make a new report in the same location. Please reference 6544190 in your new report if it is an update on this one.

  • Any update bristol city council? No prior warning to what was a 30mph zone for many many years to all of a sudden being a 20mph zone. The signage is inadequate, passing the pub after the speed camera do you actually really see any signs and they themselves are fine smaller than an a4 piece of paper. After circling back on myself there was 1 sign the size of an a4 piece of paper just before the speed camera partially covered by a lotry otherwise spaces where there was a 30mph sign has now been removed and now displays no signage until approaching the speed camera which is then to late. This is an issue which needs rectifying ASAP but until then from the date of change to speed it will be inadequate, unprofessional and potentially illegal for speeding tickets over 30mph to be issued until this is rectified

  • Still there is no signage enough from 30 miles speed To 20 miles speed camera.

The sign of 20 miles speed is covered a lottery sign.

Also, it has no sign on of 20 miles on the tarmac as you approach. This camera use to be 30 miles speed camera for all its live.
