Water not draining away

Reported via mobile in the Flooding/Gully/Drainage category anonymously at 13:32, Tuesday 8 October 2024

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6566138.

This has been on ongoing issue for over a year. The water does not flood away on the road, leading it to be able inch high on the footpath.

It has also lead to residents having to have cars repaired due to water damage where the water gets so high it gets inside the undercarriage.

Today I witnessed an elderly woman slip in the inch high water and fall face first.

When the water does eventually drain away in a couple.of days we are left with nothing but thick mud where some residents have been unable to get there car out due to tyre spinning.

This has been reported throughout the year where we have consistently been told its on your agenda and it will get fixed.

It has yet to be. It's cost me near 1k alone in car repairs due to water damage. This is absolutely appalling.

We have reported it throughout this time however

  • Agree this needs an actual fix. Plenty of children walking back from 2x large nearby secondary school have no way of getting home. The drainage isn’t fit for purpose. How can citizens track resolution of this problem?
