No white lines on road, faded.

Reported via desktop in the Roads category anonymously at 15:25, Fri 11 October 2024

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6599779.

On Wednesday morning a car was driving on the wrong side of the road at a high speed going under the A370 and almost hit us head on. We had to do an emergency stop to prevent hitting the car, but the car behind us almost hit us. I checked today and the road lines are either not there or faded. Its not an excuse for the poor driving, but should be clearer as could prevent a serious accident on a busy road near a school.

  • Hi,

The same thing happened to me while driving from Blackmoors lane towards Winterstoke Road on Wednesday 11th December at 9:15am as I came around to go under the bypass. A red citron car with 2 male passengers came into my lane and then swerved back to the correct side of road when he approached me. This really is a risk for a collision.

  • The double white lines in the underpass have completely faded. Vehicles coming from the A370/A3029 through to the A369 Clanage roundabout drift onto the wrong side of the road (due to poor attention and sloppy cornering on their part) and into oncoming traffic. This is very dangerous and, as others have said, a collision is going to happen.

  • We've investigated this enquiry and believe it relates to the same issue that we've seen via a separate enquiry and appropriate action has already been taken. For example, a job may have been raised with our contractors for repair or the issue is not the responsibility of Bristol City Council.
