Missing sign

Reported via Android in the Road signage category anonymously at 08:03, Saturday 2 November 2024

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6685918.

Traffic flow on Station Road is one way for motor vehicles. The existing road markings indicating that cyclists are permitted to travel in both directions have always been inadequate. I have witnessed several near accidents due to motorists approaching the narrow entrance to the road, at the junction with Brook Road, proceeding into the path of oncoming cyclists. In some instances this has provoked hostility and aggression from motorists who wrongly believe an offence has been committed by a cyclist. The placing of a "contraflow pedal cycles" sign (as attached) here would help to resolve this dangerous situation.
