Request for pedestrian crossing points, Avonvale Road - Marsh Lane - Mildred Street

Reported via desktop in the General highways enquiry category anonymously at 20:41, Sun 24 November 2024

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6778441.

As focus has been put onto Marsh Lane and Avonvale Road as part of the East Bristol Liveable Neighbourhood scheme, as a local resident I wish to request that this four way junction where Avonvale Road, Marsh Lane and Mildred Street meet, see some proper pedestrian crossings be installed.

At present, there is only a single zebra crossing close to the junction with Beam Street. But aside from this crossing, there are no other official pedestrian crossings around this junction.

I feel this would be money better spent, rather than installing a bus gate on Marsh Lane where no bus services run and have not done so for years, or similarly a bus gate on Avonvale Road for a bus service that does not run anyway near frequently enough to warrant a bus gate (number 5).
