Pavement Obstruction opposite 334 Gloucester Rd
Reported via desktop in the Obstruction blocking access category anonymously at 22:40, Sunday 16 March 2025
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7199674.
The Three Wise Monkeys fruit shop (334 Gloucester Rd) have placed a six meter long stall opposite their shop for over a year on the pavement and this has not only restricted the pavement area and made it difficult for the passers by specially with push chair and wheelchair but also made it impossible to park on the road next to stall as we are not able to open the car doors due to distance between the stall and the road. We would appreciate if this could be investigated and removed as this is an obvious case of public right of way obstruction.
Many thanks

This is one example of rouge retail leaseholders exploiting business tax rates, rather than pay for the M2 of their retail premises, they put their 'sales' upon the public footpath/byway. Another example, fruit and veg shop Gls Rd/Bishop Rd BS78NU junction, and Gls Rd fruit&veg just down from the zebra crossing, who actually place their sales upon the ZIG/ZAG lines, causing a visual obstruction for safe use of the crossing. Should be fairly easy for legal enforcement as all three leasehold units are rented by the same syndicate....O'h and it's the retailer's and shop workers 4x4 urban utility tractors parked on the clearway everyday/allday.
