  • The failure to remove this is a disgrace. I have reported this to the chief executive of the council asking him to ensure it is removed immediately and to hold those people who have failed to clear this to account. Totally shameful. Cllr Tim Kent

  • 24Th Feb ref 7180221 Closed 28th Feb as BCC don't think its their responsibility.

28th Feb ref 7206089 Closed 3rd March as BCC don't think its their responsibility.

I fail to see how this is not BCC responsibility, this is fly tipping. Remind my what the 4.99% extra council tax is for again..

But perhaps Whitchurch/Hengrove has different targets, or this bit of public pavement doesn't qualify for some reason - it must belong to someone though. If this was Stoke Bishop I bet it would have been removed within the three day target.

But never mind, a couple of weeks more and it will be mostly broken up and dispersed and walked into peoples' homes. Anyone suffering the ill effects of the material (assuming it contains asbestos) will be so far in the future for present officials to have long gone.

  • Update received from Bristol Waste Company: due to the large volumes of asbestos left, the clearance has been outsourced to a removal company to carry-out removal safely and sufficiently.

We appreciate everyone bringing this to their attention and raising their concerns.
