No crossing and no pavement

Reported via mobile in the General highways enquiry category anonymously at 19:00, Thursday 13 March 2025

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7275098.

There’s no crossing on Thicket Road/Thicket avenue. It’s a really busy, wide road and there’s nowhere safe to cross. This makes going up to Staple Hill high street stressful, especially with small children or a pram or wheelchair. It also means there is no safe access for us to our nearest cycle track entrance on Railway terrace (Staple Hill station). There’s also no way to get safely to Hillfields or Kingswood if you’re coming from the Fishponds side, as you have to cross a bridge over the cycle track and there is no pavement on our side of the road. You have to cross the road to be able to go across the bridge. This means no safe route to Hillfields library, Hillfields park or to Kingswood if you live on the Fishponds side of Thicket Road. Please put something in place as there are loads of kids in this area and it’s a dangerous road to try and run across.
