Engine idling in this street is becoming chronic, almost constant. People idle their cars often 20 minutes or more, waiting for the pay and display machine to be free or waiting on their free half hour slot. This is directly outside houses and gardens and along a walk route for the primary school. Lorries and deliveries also wait on this section of road, idling whilst leaving their vehicles empty, some over 30 minute at a time, such as Tesco, Prime, delivery vans, builders etc. On top of that, with all the parents dropping kids off at the nearby school we get lots of parents leaving their engines on to when speaking with other parents etc. Not only is it a nuisance but it’s detrimental to the air quality and poses an increased health risk, especially near a school. Is it possible to get some signs installed warning people to not engine idle? One at the pay and display and some where the parking Permit notices are, such as in Arley Hill.
