Reported via desktop in the General highways enquiry category anonymously at 23:36, Thu 29 May 2025

Sent to Bristol City Council 6 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 7636319.

Kindly explain why your systems automatically closed my safety concerns and a request for information on future planned works that may help improve a dire situation on Mowbray Road. Case 7443579 was passed to “another department “ who were not accountable to at least offer a reply to my request.

    Highly dangerous when exiting driveway.

A few years ago somebody highlighted on this page how dangerous it was to exit Clive Road onto narrow Mowbray Road due to parked cars along the entire length of the non parkside kerb. If they thought that was bad enough to report then trust me reversing from my driveway on Mowbray between these parked cars requires crossed fingers and a prayer on each occasion due to zero visibility. I am therefore forced to reverse my car onto my driveway holding up irate “rat runners” which only very marginally reduces the risk of collision when exiting due to the aforementioned zero visibility and the oncoming rat run traffic who mostly view Mowbray Road as a race track. There was talk some while ago about introducing double yellow lines along this stretch of road while at the same time having limited waiting time on the parkside. Currently Mowbray Road is used as a whole day overspill car park for employees of businesses on the opposite side of the Wells Road. Can you update me please as to if and when these plans will go ahead.
