Lamp Post - sign in wrong place

Reported via desktop in the Road signage category anonymously at 09:02, Monday 2 June 2025

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7648567.

There are 2 signs hanging on the lamp post outside my property. They prevent deliveries being made to my home. As we have 4 disabled people living here it is vital that we are able to receive deliveries in an orderly manner. Due to a sign pointing to Canford Lane Cemetery which is fixed too low, and another sign saying 'New Zebra Crossing' above it, delivery vans are unable to pull up close enough for either a garden load being delivered and hoisted off the lorry, or other vans delivering food or other essential items. The sign is often blown in the wind and lands up pointing into my home, or drivers not seeing it in their rear view mirrors, or drivers not being able to deliver at all, or having to park over at the entrance of the cemetery and walk up to my home 235, Canford Lane. Please sort out this problem. It is a penalty against us, to have this inconsideration against us who are disabled. I am also reporting that cars are parking in front of a curb drop on both sides of the road, by the entrance of Canford Cemetery. This prevents people using their disabled scooters, prams, bicycles and people who are struggling to walk being able to remain on that side of the road to enter their homes further on down Canford Lane. As Canford Lane is an extremely busy dangerous road, it is not safe to cross further down to go get into their homes. The Zebra Crossing for them is not an asset. Rhoda Moden
