Lack of bollards

Reported via mobile in the Road signage category anonymously at 12:12, Tuesday 10 June 2025

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7687884.

Deported since 2nd of May, that due to lack of bollards on pavements surrounding new planters, dozens of reckless drivers choosing their way over the pavement, which is mostly dangerous during school rush when even presence of children is not stopping them of driving over the pavement. Big danger for children everyday. Drivers even accelerating just after passing planters to not be seen on the pavement, what increases the risk. Just a few minutes after 3pm on Monday 12th a huge fully loaded tipper took a left turn from Victoria Avenue, crossed the pavement on right side of the planters. No caution, in drifting like manner. Still no improvement on securing this place, I'm afraid that someone is waiting for child to be run over. On Tuesday 13th another huge vehicle decided to cross the pavement, but unfortunately didn't managed to avoid collision with the planter. Ref 7516611 Ref 7516611 Constantly falsely reported as fixed by haters.

  • Vehicles would not need to drive on the pavement if the road was not blocked by planters. If the planters were removed, then the driving on the pavement will cease and bollards would not be required.
