Over grown branches
Reported via mobile in the Tree touching building category anonymously at 12:37, Wednesday 11 June 2025
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7693689.
I am writing to raise an urgent concern regarding the overgrown tree located directly in front of my property at 25 Hassell Drive, BS2 0AP.
The branches of this tree have become excessively overgrown and are now causing several significant issues: 1. Pest control have confirmed that because the branches are in direct contact with my property, they have created a clear path for squirrels to access the roof and enter the loft area. This presents both a pest problem and a potential structural risk. 2. The overgrowth of branches is significantly reducing the amount of natural light entering my home. It also obstructs my view of the street, which impacts visibility and contributes to a reduced sense of my safety. 3. The branches hang so low that they obstruct the footpath. At a height of 5ft 3in, I often have to duck to pass beneath them. Additionally, some of the lower branches near the base of the tree(s) are spreading outward toward the road, partially obstructing roadside parking spaces.
Given the impact on safety, accessibility, and the condition of my property, I respectfully request that this tree be pruned, significantly trimmed, or Removed. The tree has grown substantially larger over the years and is now affecting my day-to-day comfort and overall sense of well-being.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I would appreciate confirmation of when this issue will be addressed.
