Sharp piece of metal struck up out of the ground

This looks like part of an old metal pole that was probably part of the houses here at one time. The problem is that it’s just in the middle of the path where kids run and falling on it or hitting a head on it could be a horrible injury.
It’s just in the forestry bit of the park on the left as you enter from south street. There is a large rock and then an opening into the trees and the kids go running in there at speed. This piece of metal is directly on the path.
