Cherry tree with bracket us growing at base

The Cherry tree on the pavement outside 10 Ormerod Road has some sort of bracket fungus growing at the base. The fungus looks quite well established and I’ve read this can be dangerous (eg falling branches) if the tree is being killed from the inside by the fungus. It’s been there a while, not sure how long (definitely over a year). I didn’t realise how much of an issue this might be hence why I have not reported this previously.
