Overgrowth of trees and bushes

Reported via desktop in the Bus route obstruction category anonymously at 12:06, Saturday 6 September 2025

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8128000.

Long stretches of the Portway from Shirehampton to Clifton have extensive overgrowth of trees and bushes encroaching into the road, partially blocking the Bus Lane and causing buses to have to proceed at the right hand edge of their lane, which is unnerving for cars in their lane. Vegetation has grown out from verge and into the road, completely covering the kerb, white line and any drains that may or may not be there will be inoperative.

From the extensive growth, this has been a problem for probably years.
