Some repair work done, but it’s worse after

Reported via iOS in the Uneven surface category anonymously at 09:57, Sat 13 December 2025

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8541608.

Workman have replaced a couple of sections of the degrading pavement however where a large pile of debris was left. The surface is now worse than before the Work started. Also in the second photo it shows how the pavement is degrading around the bend of constitution Hill and Clifton Wood Road. This entire stretch of tarmac needs attention not just patches. I appreciate money is short but this corner freezes and get slippery and is on a camper and you can imagine that this causes problems for several of our firm residence. Please don’t just close this please come and sort.

  • Not really. For some reason, & some unknown metric, sections are getting relaid, but the whole path from Constitution Hill along to CliftonWood House needs replacing. The kerbstone by the gully drain has dropped out making it a trip hazard & to be honest this is the worse part. Uneven & slippery.

  • Repair is already failing. 30cm of loose material has come away. Please come back & not only repair repairs but replace the whole length from the paved slabs on Constitution Hill to Clifton Wood House. There are multiple issues including sunk kerbstone, uneven surface & slip & trip hazards. Sure doing this properly in one go is cheaper than the piecemeal approach happening?

  • Not fixed. Deteriorating rapidly. Large depression in pavement makes it uneven & a trip hazard. Surface was never finished so entire section is rubbish. Other sections identified by me haven’t been touched. Entire length needs replacement. Not just sections. It’s degraded, uneven and a hazard to the infirm. Please prioritise.

  • A job has been raised with contractors and appropriate repairs or maintenance will be undertaken as soon as they can.

  • This is NOT an improvement! Repair work has failed. Don’t know how it was left in this state, but surface was never compressed so loose surface is going. Also a pothole has developed. 2nd image shows puddle where repair means water doesn’t drain. Whole pavement needs resurfacing, not just patches. This is now a major pedestrian route used by not just residents, but also tourists walking down to see the ‘colourful’ houses in Clifton Wood. It’s shaming that there’s literally no connection between making the environment attractive & safe for all.

  • We've investigated this enquiry and believe it relates to the same issue that we've seen via a separate enquiry and appropriate action has already been taken. For example, a job may have been raised with our contractors for repair or the issue is not the responsibility of Bristol City Council.
