Van parked on pavement close to park entrance
Reported via mobile in the A vehicle left on public road for over two months category anonymously at 13:04, Fri 19 December 2025
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8569928.
Believe this van to be occupied and is parked on the pavement and is very close to the entrance to Badocks Wood. The pavement is nit very wide and now even narrower because of this van. This entrance is used heavily by school children and families. The front window of the van is blocked so there is no telling who maybe inside or what they might be doing.

I planned to report this today but can see it was already reported several weeks ago. It is untaxed and parked inconsiderately.

This untaxed van has been parked here for months. I walk past it every day and nothing appears to move, ire, the contents of the van, which suggests it has been abandoned.

20.02.2026, Van Still there, has not had any tax since November 2025 which is the month it was abandoned here. Whilst it looks to have been lived in previously it is not currently occupied and has not been since being abandoned here. Tyres now completely deflated further strengthening case for abandonment. Additionally the Van has been left blocking the path double Prams or mobility scooters are having to dangerously traverse the blind corner as a result.

Saw a group of teeenagers looking through the window of the van yesterday.
If someone sets fire to it the old people’s home opposite would be quickly engulfed in smoke and could put them in danger.

Van is still there. Several months after it was first reported.

I walk by this van at least twice a day when I walk the dog in the woods. It's been there since November. I have never seen any sign that it is occupied. It appears to be abandoned. It is parked inconsiderately and I fear it will be set on fire. It needs to be removed before the Lake summer season commences and the parking chaos that ensues. For goodness sake please do not let our beloved local woods become a no-go zone because of vans like the Bristol Downs

This vehicle seems to have changed ownership in September 2025, when it had a little bit of road tax still valid. The vehicle turned up on Lakewood Road not long after that date and has not been re-taxed. So we have an untaxed vehicle which has not moved for over three months, parked half on the road and half on the pavement. Whose responsibility is it to either trace the owner and get them to remove it or have it removed to the scrap yard?

Walked by this again yesterday on my dog walk, I have commented back in January about this vehicle. It is still there it looks as though somebody has hit into one of the wing mirrors due to its awful placement. I also have fished out some chip board from the River Trym that I suspect kids has ripped from the roof of the van and thrown in the river. I have placed this by the entrance gate there is still more of this chipboard on the roof of the van. Why is the council not doing anything about this? The inaction here is having a detrimental impact on the local area and it is clearly becoming a target.

A neighbour told me he has seen a person going into this van. The person got out of a black Mercedes SUV with foreign number (SLO?) plates before going to the van. Who knows what the van is being used for. If I see the car I will take a photo and update this site. Why is the council not taking any action (or at least providing updates) on this problem?

With reference to the last post, the black Mercedes SUV belongs to a couple who live in the flats opposite to the entrance to the woods. I will leave a notice on the van windscreen the next time I'm there informing them that the unlicensed van has been reported and will doubtless be removed soon.
(WHEN will it be removed, it's been there for over 3 months now?)

Somebody is going to torch this Van, it’s blocking wheel chair access to a community space and when someone does set fire to it it will spew toxic smoke at an OAP home.
