Desperate need of Zebra Crossing

Reported via mobile in the Missing category anonymously at 20:23, Sunday 4 January 2026

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8625670.

Hello there . We have lived here for over a year and every morning I cycle with my 6 year old daughter to school and then onto work. Crossing South mead road from the top of lake road heading onto henleaze road and vice versa on the way home requires traversing 4 lanes of traffic. It is horrendously dangerous with the cars zooming across these, especially with a young family. I've noticed more and more, most recently with the house on the corner covered in Christmas lights attracting families from all over the area, the amount of danger for these little ones not having a safe way of crossing on that side of the road is of great concern.

There are options on the others sides of the road but arguably the most amount of traffic and people needing to cross comes from those sides.

Please please please can you consider adding a zebra crossing to bridge those 4 lanes of traffic and help keep our families that cross there every day safe.

Best wishes Andy
