Drivers forcing their way through closed road

Reported via desktop in the Problem with BCC highway works undertaken category anonymously at 10:51, Tuesday 6 January 2026

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8633850.

Totterdown bridge is closed to motorists on the bath road but drivers are turning right anyway and driving through a pedestrian crossing on a green man. I almost got run over as they are using the lane for motorists coming from Albert Road to the Bath Road and who are held at a red light. I have attached a diagram to show that the road closure signs are not working and it is very dangerous.
