Multiple depressions and potholes

Reported via Android in the Depression in road category anonymously at 14:42, Friday 27 February 2026

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9012699.

There have been roadworks here for several months, forcing traffic over one side of the carriageway. This side of the carriageway, and the roundabout, now have multiple depressions and potholes of varying sizes. The road is in a terrible state.

Now that the roadworks have finally finished, this road needs urgent attention.

It's worth noting that this is a key route to Avonmouth so takes a heavy amount of industrial traffic. It's also the main route from the Portway. Sea Mills, and Shirehampton to Falcondale Road (the main road to central Bristol from Cribbs Causeway and the motorway) and as such it handles an enormous amount of traffic on a daily basis. That to say that whatever is done to remedy the problems needs to be future-proof, robust, long lasting and strong enough to deal with this huge load of traffic.

  • Any update on this?

The potholes and depressions are now so deep you can see through several layers of the road surface.

  • We've investigated this enquiry and believe it relates to the same issue that we've seen via a separate enquiry and appropriate action has already been taken. For example, a job may have been raised with our contractors for repair or the issue is not the responsibility of Bristol City Council.
