The concrete slabs have cracks between that make it really dangerous when cycling down hill!

The road surface is so poor it is a severe safety issue. I cycle down this road daily, on the 3/10/2016 I went to indicate to turn, I hit one of many potholes on the road, the jolt meant that I had to grab hold of both handlebars again and my water-bottle came flying off my bike and continued down the road. As a whole it is difficult to cycle this route, the poor condition of the surface means it is very difficult to indicate and occasionally you need to swerve around pot holes and ditches with no warning, with cars regularly speeding down the road, especially through the 20mph section but also through the 30mph parts and overtaking without enough space it is a recipe for disaster if cyclists cannot then signal what they are about to do.

The depth of the potholes and the ruts on Romney Avenue and Shaldon road are now so deep - 5-7 cm that they are a serious danger to cyclists. I have had one narrow escape when my front tyre was trapped in a rut. This is especially so on the downhill side and at night.
