Hi, I have recently started cycling to work after 5 years not doing it.As bad as the roads are the stretch between Dorian Road and Bartholomews square is as bad as ive seen in a long time. Firstly, 2 weeks ago, my chain actually bounced off. Then yesterday the clip on my back brakes came loose and that meant my brakes didnt work properly which i didnt know until i reached red lights at Monks Park. My neck has discomfort too from riding over that patch. Is there a reason this stretch of road in particular has been left like this? it is really really odd. For what it is worth, I would say the whole stretch from Horfield Common to Braemar Avenue mini roundabout needs doing. This is my ride from Filton to Bristol City Centre. I have a bike mechanic visiting my house to ensure no more damage has been happening to my bike and fix the brakes.

Every week a person sends in about this stretch of road. Been like it now for years it was resurfaced then after first winter the whole streach the top tarmac coat gave way .And since no repairs the whole section needs replacing. Shakes your vehicle now as it is a dangerous suface.Known locally as the Cattle grid.

The neglect being shown by the council here is absolutely appalling. This section of road is consistently reported and has been in a state of needing urgent repair for around 2 years now. What purpose does this reporting service actually provide if issues as bad as this one are allowed to go ignored for so long? Similar to this reporter, my bike also broke whilst riding this section,my front light snapped clean off it's mount. I cycle this way for work and have been doing so for the last 3 years. To add insult to injury, a few months ago a small patch was made on one pothole - why waste taxpayer money putting plasters on wounds that need surgery??? SORT THIS ROAD OUT, IT IS UNACCEPTABLE.
